In recent years, the K-pop culture has been receiving much attention and more people have fluttered to Korea for a glance of their favourite idols or a taste of the local Korean culture. Many people, no matter boys or girls are crazy for their cosmetic products or fashion items.
Apart from the popular shopping districts, there are a lot more places to go in this vibrant city.
Haneul Park
It is definitely one of the top places I recommend going and one of my favourite places in Seoul. Walking several hundreds of stairs and you will find yourself in the lush greenery where you can enjoy the panoramic city view. It is a sanctuary in the midst of this hectic city.
Han River
It is one of the major river in the heart of Seoul. It is a popular place for local and tourists for its beautiful scenery and the variety of things to do here. A great place to walk a dog, take a stroll, ride a bike, go on a picnic or go for some water sports. As for me, I like to get a drink and have fried chicken while enjoying the mesmerising scene with friends.
Namsan Seoul Tower
No trip to Seoul would be complete without enjoying the panoramic view of the entire city in the Namsan Seoul Tower. I suggest going up at both daytime and night time for the different sides of the city.
Bukchon Hanok Village
It is a Korean traditional village with a long history, preserved for 600-year urban environment located on top of the hill between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. It took me some time to find this place but it is worth going if you want to explore more about the Korean history or cultures.
Tesseum
It is a paradise for those who are a fan of teddy bears. Teddy bears are not just toys for children but also friends of adults. With a unique collection of bears, you can easily get lost in this teddy's world. Don't forget to bring one home too!
Insadong - Ssamziegil
If you are looking for some special souvenirs for your friends and families, it is the right place. It is 4-storey designer stores selling lots of handicrafts and homemade art craft and products. Another feature of this building is its spiral design where you can stroll along to check out the stores.
Myeongdong
Yes, I know! Nearly everyone who have been to Seoul would suggest you to this place. It is one the most popular and hectic area among tourists where you can find a great array of food stalls, restaurants, stores selling all the typical trinkets or fashion items so it is a place that you must not miss!
Nami Island
If you get tired of the busy city life, Nami Island is a choice to escape for the tranquility. It is also a get-away place for the weekend for families and friends. Surrounded by the lush greenery, you can discover the other side of this vibrant city.
Dongdaemun Designer Plaza (DDP)
I came across this exhibition, Lunapark the Design Island exhibition during my stay in Seoul. It is an amusement park-themed exhibition showing 100 pieces of playful artwork from designers over the globe, for a big child like me would definitely not miss the chance, so I grabbed my friend with me and we had spent the whole afternoon there. The different regular or irregular exhibitions held with the distinctive design of the exterior design of the building had made it one of the places to go!
