Attracted by its nature reserves and world-heritage listed architectures or just simply wanted to escape the craziness for some peace of mind. There are more places to go in Sydney than the Sydney Opera House or Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Sydney Opera House
Every visitor has to get themselves to the most famous and distinctive building in Sydney. Alternative way of taking a ride on a ferry to get a closer look of this magnificent architecture and avoid the crowd for a better photo shoot.
Sydney Harbour Bridge
Another unmissable landmark in the city is of course, the Sydney Harbour Bridge! The landscape from both sides of the pedestrian walkway may be marvellous, how about the view from the top of the bridge? You may choose to climb up the bridge for the panoramic view of the Sydney Harbour, but, it is not for the faint of heart!
Royal Botanic Garden
Don’t want to pack like sardines for a view of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge? Instead, you may walk along the harbour to the Royal Botanic Garden, away from the harbour’s bustle and look at the house and the bridge from another perspective, alongside with the tranquility awaits at the garden.
Auburn Botanic Garden
Can you believe that you can find a Japanese Garden in the midst of West Sydney? Aside from the Japanese Garden and Japanese Rock Garden, Auburn Botanic Garden also comprises of the scented garden, sunken rose garden, Australian native and rainforest garden, fauna reserve, reflection pool, Duck River, maze and so on. A perfect place for nature lovers and families with kids.
Paddington Reservoir Garden
Renowned as a blend of the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the reservoir garden has turned from the water source in the 19th century to a heritage-listed place. Preserved with its original brick, timber and iron fixtures, it has attracted many couples to take their wedding photo shoots.
Bondi Beach
The Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk is one of my favourite treks in Sydney. Adjoining with various beaches, you will be soaked in the beach vibes, drowned in the fresh air and the refreshing breeze. Covered with the sweeping white sand, this iconic beach is also a favourite place for surfers. Finish off the walk at Bondi with sunset made the day even better!
Hornby Lighthouse
Head on the South Head Heritage Trail to be rewarded with a wide expanse of clear skies, the vast blue waters and the iconic red and white stripped lighthouse. You may even spot a whale if you are lucky.
Bare Island
Connected by a 130-year-old wooden bridge, the Bare Island Fort at La Perouse was built to protect the bay from invasion of Russian in 1885. A recommended place for learning more about the Aboriginal culture, the history and biodiversity.
The Strand Arcade
This Victorian-style retail arcade is home to an array of arts and crafts and designer stores. So, it is the right place if you are looking for a special gift for a friend, family or yourself.
